Everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scripture and the encouragement they provide we might have hope. Romans 15:4
One of the most painful, destructive ways the enemy will attack is by suggesting you’re alone in your struggles. But understand, that’s a lie. God has given you the testimonies of His faithful servants so you’ll know He “not fail you or forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6). They experienced times that tried their faith just as you do. And because they endured and trusted God, you can too.
So what is it you struggle with today? Do you need faith to receive a promise like Abraham (Romans 4)? Deliverance from the pit to the palace like Joseph (Genesis 47-50)? A path through a difficult obstacle like Moses (Exodus 14)? Strength to overcome adversaries like Joshua (Joshua 6)? Forgiveness like David (Psalm 51)? Or provision like the disciples (John 6:1-14)?
Look to your predecessors in the faith and be encouraged. God didn’t fail them. Rest assured that He won’t disappoint you either.
Lord, thank You that I’m not alone in the trials I face. You’ve intervened for people throughout history, and know that You’ll help me, amen.
In His presence… draw
encouragement from Scripture.
