Focus On His Character

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. PHILIPPIANS 4:6 NLT

Friend, today you may be tempted to do as you will and not wait for God’s answer to your prayers. But realize, you will not calm your anxiety by doing what you want. You will only find peace by obeying the Father and trusting His character.

No, the Lord may not act as quickly as you wish. But remember, He is all-powerful, all-knowing, and unfailingly merciful. If He has not responded to you yet, it is certainly for a good purpose.

You must embrace the fact that having a solid foundation of faith in His trustworthy character is essential if you desire to experience His unshakable security and peace. If you are unclear about who Jesus is, then your faith will fail you when you need it most.

So when anxiety takes hold and you feel driven by fear to act— stop. Open the Word. Seek God’s face and meditate on His steadfast, unshakable, faithful character. And soon the peace that transcends understanding will comfort and strengthen your heart and mind.

Lord, You are good and You lead me faithfully. I will trust You. Thank You for calming my soul, amen.
