“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.” MATTHEW 5: 16
When you feel inadequate to serve God or carry out His commands, remember that what He expects of you is different from what you think. You may believe He is looking for charisma, persuasiveness, and a brilliant mind. But what He really requires is:
Sensitivity to the Spirit. Be attentive and obedient to His promptings.
Service. Humbly glorify Him and edify others rather than promote yourself.
Sacrifice. Pour yourself out for His name’s sake rather than what you can attain.
Self-denial. Seek His kingdom and goals instead of your own.
Suffering. Follow Him obediently even when it means pain and persecution, knowing that you are serving His eternal purposes.
In other words, the Savior wants to use your life as a platform for His power. So when He calls, don’t worry about whether you’re smart, talented, or beautiful enough. Just obey Him wholeheartedly. He will surely magnify Himself through you.
Lord, thank You for choosing me to serve You. May my life glorify You in every way, amen.
In His presence . . . reflect His glory.
