I have set the LORD continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. PSALM 16: 8–9
Have you ever wondered why Mary wasn’t afraid to risk public shame to obey God? Or why the apostle Paul didn’t abandon his faith as he experienced severe suffering? Or how David not only survived but thrived during the years King Saul persecuted him?
Through trials, difficulties, heartaches, and deep sorrows, men and women like Mary, Paul, and David learned the ways of God. They found that His love never changes and that He is completely trustworthy. His wonderful, abiding presence kept them faithful even as the world fell apart around them.
Likewise, by learning His ways, you will have all you need to stand firm in your faith at every turn in life. When you understand— as they did— the power that’s yours in Christ, you won’t be so fearful. You’ll realize that whatever comes your way first passes through the loving hands of your Savior. And His love, power, strength, and abiding care will strengthen your soul in times of great distress— regardless of what trials may come.
Father, You are continually before me. Because You sustain me, I shall not be shaken.
Thank You for holding me steady, amen. In His presence . . . you have His power to stand firm.
