The disciples went and woke [Jesus], saying, “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!” He got up and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all was calm. “Where is your faith?” he asked his disciples.
L UKE 8:24–25 NIV
Jesus, our Master, was a realist. He never called those who followed Him to live in denial of trouble and He did not shield them from adversity. He allowed the tempests to assail them and called them to have faith in the midst of the worst storms.
Friend, all trials are passing in nature—for a season and for a reason. Do not make the mistake of thinking your circumstances will never change or that they will destroy you.
Because God is with you, you do not have to give in to, sink beneath, or become defeated by troubles. You can face them, confront them, challenge them, deal with them, and—in the end—overcome them. You can have the victory because your all-sufficient God is with you!
Today, allow that truth to bring joy and consolation to your heart.
Father, I will live my day in confidence, knowing You are watching, directing, caring for, and loving me, amen.
In His presence . . . remember He is the source and strength of your faith.
