SECLUSION IN MEDITATION

While it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
MARK 1:35 NIV

If the Lord Jesus Christ, who was perfect in His relationship with the Father, felt it necessary to seclude Himself for His times of prayer, then shouldn’t we make provisions for such solitude?

The Lord wants you to be alone with Him so He can have your undivided attention—free from the competition of others—where you can share your heart, joys, and sorrows with Him without reservation. This is because you are His delight. He wants you all to Himself to put His loving, divine arms around you and remind you of His unwavering commitment and care.

God loves you. But unless you are willing to dedicate time alone with Him, your mind will always be divided. You will not experience the ultimate blessing of having the Creator of all that exists to yourself in deep, intimate, profoundly satisfying communion. Friend, the Lord Jesus Christ wants to have you all to Himself. So guard your private time with Him, because it will certainly be precious.

Father, thank You for wanting time alone with me. I will seek Your face with all my heart, amen.

In His presence . . . give Him your undivided attention.
