INDICATIONS

Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him for the help of His presence.
PSALM 42:5

There are times you know something is amiss because of the heaviness or sharp ache you feel. Your emotions rise up quickly, almost uncontrollably. A look, a word, or a combination of circumstances occur and something within you reacts dramatically.

In such instances, you have a choice. You can either give in to your emotions or you can take them as an indication that God is actively drawing you into His presence.

The pain you feel doesn’t have to be negative; it doesn’t have to destroy you. On the contrary, it can be a bridge to a deeper relationship with the Father if you respond in the right way.

So when you sense those emotions rising up, set your mind to seek Him immediately. Get on your knees in prayer, open His Word, and ask Him what He is teaching you. You will be amazed at all He shows you and how deeply He ministers to your heart.

Lord, I give You my emotions. Help me turn to You when they arise and draw me closer to You through them, amen.

In His presence . . . allow Him to make sense of your emotions.
