Աստծու գիտությամբ աճեք

ԿՈՂՈՍԱՑԻՆԵՐԻ 1.9-12

 9 Դրա համար մենք էլ այն օրից, երբ լսեցինք, չենք դադարում ձեզ համար աղոթելուց և աղաչելուց, որպեսզի լցվեք նրա կամքի գիտությամբ, ամեն իմաստությամբ ու հոգևոր իմաստությամբ, 10 որպեսզի դուք ընթանաք, ինչպես արժանի է Տիրոջը՝ ամեն բանում նրան հաճելի լինելով, ամեն բարի գործով պտղաբեր լինեք և Աստծու գիտությամբ աճեք.  11 Ամեն զօրութիւնով զօրացած իր փառքի զօրութեան համեմատ, ամեն համբերութեան եւ երկայնմտութեան մէջ ուրախութիւնով. 12 Եւ գոհութիւն տաք Հօրը որ մեզ արժանացրեց մասնակից լինելու սուրբերի վիճակին լոյսումը.

Պողոսի աղոթքի հիմնական խնդրանքն էր՝ «Աստված լցնի ձեզ իր կամքի իմացությամբ այն ողջ իմաստությամբ և հասկացողությամբ, որ տալիս է Հոգին»։ Այսինքն, այժմ, երբ նրանք ստացել էին ավետարանը և աճում էին հավատքի ու սիրո մեջ, Պողոսի ձգտումն էր, որ նրանք աճեն նաև հնազանդության և իմաստության մեջ: Աստծո գիտությամբ լցվելը նշանակում է կառավարվել դրանով: Իմանալ Աստծո կամքը նշանակում է հետևել դրան: Հետևաբար, այս աղոթքի արդյունքը կլինի աստվածահաճո կյանք՝ իսկապես բարձր կոչում:

Ինչպիսի՞ն է աստվածահաճո կյանքը: 10-ից 12-րդ համարներում Պողոսը թվարկում է չորս հատկանիշ. Նախ՝ «ամեն բարի գործում պտուղ բերելը»։ Դա համապատասխանում է քրիստոնեական սիրո մասին նրա նախկին հիշատակմանը կամ ուրիշների բարօրության համար գործելուն։ Երկրորդ՝ «աճել Աստծո գիտության մեջ»։ Սա նշանակում է «սովորել» և՛ տեղեկատվության, և՛ գործողության իմաստով: Եթե աստվածաբանությունը հարաբերություն է Աստծո հետ, ապա «Աստծո գիտելիքը» պետք է ներառի և՛ իմանալը, և՛ անելը: Երրորդ՝ «ամեն ուժով զորանալը»։ Ուժի աղբյուրն աստվածային է, իսկ ամրապնդված հավատքի արդյունքը՝ տոկունությունն ու համբերությունը: Վերջապես, «ուրախությամբ, գոհություն մատուցելով Հորը»։ Նա, ում համար մենք պետք է «ապրենք արժանի», նա է, ով մեզ զորացնում է դա անելու:

Կիրառել Խոսքը

Մենք չենք կարող պարզապես վերացական կերպով սովորել Աստծո մասին՝ սովորելն ու անելը ձեռք ձեռքի տված են: Մենք չենք կարող պարզապես ընդգծել վերաբերմունքը. երախտագիտությունը պետք է ներառի գործողություն, ոչ միայն զգացմունքներ: Սա այն չէ, որ մենք կարող ենք ինքնուրույն անել: Մենք պետք է ապավինենք Սուրբ Հոգուն: Աստծո ճանապարհով քայլելու համար անհրաժեշտ է Նրա ճշմարտությունը, զորությունը և շնորհը:

Colossians 1:9-12

For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.

Paul’s main prayer request was for “God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives.” That is, now that they had received the gospel and were growing in faith and love, Paul’s ambition was for them to grow also in obedience and wisdom. To be filled with the knowledge of God is to be controlled by it. To know God’s will is to follow it. Therefore, the outcome of this prayer would be a God-pleasing life—a high calling indeed!

What does a God-pleasing life look like? In verses 10 through 12, Paul lists four characteristics. First, “bearing fruit in every good work.” That fits with his earlier mention of Christian love, or acting for others’ good. Second, “growing in the knowledge of God.” This means “learning” in the sense of both information and action. If theology is a relationship with God, then the “knowledge of God” must involve both knowing and doing. Third, “being strengthened with all power.” The source of strength is divine, and the outcome of a strengthened faith is endurance and patience. Finally, “giving joyful thanks to the Father.” The One for whom we are to “live worthy” is the One who empowers us to do so!

Apply the Word

We can’t just learn about God abstractly—learning and doing go hand-in-hand. We can’t just emphasize attitude—gratitude must include action, not just feelings.. This is not something we can do on our own. We must rely on the Holy Spirit. To walk God’s way requires His truth, power, and grace!
