Which Is True?

Revive me, O Lord, according to Your lovingkindness. The sum of Your word is truth, and every one  of Your righteous ordinance is everlasting. Psalm 119:159-160

You read it yesterday, but it is worth repeating. In Jesus you’re eternally loved (Jeremiah 31:3), accepted (Romans 15:7), adequate (2 Corinthians 3:5), and victorious (1 Corinthians 15:57).

At times, however, everything within you may fight against believing this. Difficult circumstances, painful memories, or the harsh words of others may make you feel fearful, unworthy, inadequate, and absolutely helpless to endure the problems you’re facing.

But remember, “The heart is deceitful above all things” (Jeremiah 17:9). Scripture will always be far more trustworthy than your own judgment. The enemy, remnants of your sin nature, or your limited perspective may taint what you perceive to be true. But God’s Word has stood the test of time, and you can always rely on what He says.

Therefore, confess  it to yourself often: in Jesus, you are loved, accepted, adequate, and victorious. Allow His truth to permeate your heart and find your worth in Him.

Jesus, transform my heart completely with Your truth, amen.

In His presence… embrace
His everlasting truth.
EVERY DAY IN HIS PRESENCE, CHARLES F. STANLEY
