“Everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock…. The winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fail. Matthew 7:24-25

The situation you face today can either build you up or tear you down. The good news is—you have a choice in the matter. Either you can invite God to work through your circumstances to develop your faith and character, or you can permit the problems to control you. The key is who you allow to interpret what happens to you.

If you look at your challenges in light of your own abilities, you will likely feel disheartened, irritated, or overwhelmed because your only choice is to fight with the tools at your disposal.

However, a much wiser course of action is to go to God’s Word for wisdom and do as He says. No matter what you face, the Father can certainly handle it. And if you look to Him to direct your path, He will use the adversity to edify you and teach you more about His wonderful ways.

Lord, help me seek Your wisdom in every situation. When You lead, my life is built on a solid foundation, amen.
