We love Him because He first loved us At times you may be tempted to focus on the relationships that fall short of your expectations and wishes. It is understandable that the people who cause you pain often receive the lion’s share of your attention. You want to figure out what went wrong. But realize that human love will never really fulfill your needs. And God allows you to experience how short it falls so you’ll recognize how much you need His perfect, unconditional love. People may seem to provide the care validation, and accept trance you desire, but only the Lord can truly fill you with the love that never ceases. So if you feel a longing for someone or emptiness inside, don’t focus on the person who is being unreal. Rather, take it as an indication you have not received God’s love as fully as you can. The Father’s love is sufficient to sustain you, no matter what you face. Allow Him to drive out your fears and bring you peace.
