God wants you to know Him and His will. This may not seem true, especially if you are seeking Him for a specific answer to prayer. It can feel as if He is silent, distant, and even uninterested in your problems. But nothing could be further from the truth. He cares for you deeply. In fact, He may have allowed these difficulties in your life for the express purpose of drawing you to Him.

The question is: Is there anything that frightens you about really knowing God? Perhaps you fear He will find you unworthy or that He’ll call you to a difficult field of service. Maybe you’re worried there are behaviors or goals He will ask you to give up. It’s even possible you’re afraid that you’ll seek Him and find nothing there.

Friend, God exists, He loves you unconditionally, and He has a wonderful plan for your life that will delight you. Do not be afraid. Today, open His Word and sit silently in His presence. He wants you to know Him. Allow Him to reveal Himself to you.

Lord, I really want to know You and experience Your presence. Please reveal Yourself to me, Father, amen.

 In His presence…know God.
