Delight yourself in the LORD; and He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4
A promise is only as good as the character of the one making it. So when it comes to your loving, heavenly Father, there should be absolutely no question about whether or not He will do as He says. You can count on the fact He will (Joshua 21: 45).
But God calls you to delight in Him because nothing will satisfy your soul like being close to Him in intimate fellowship. As you draw near to Him, He not only provides the wisdom you need at every turn, but He also directs you in how to accomplish His plan for your life—including receiving the promise you yearn for.
Be assured—the Father will not fail you. The desire of your heart may take a different form than you expected and may appear in a way you never imagined, but God will keep His word. And the Lord Himself will be your joy. So take heart, seek Him faithfully, and remind yourself often, “Not one word has failed of all His good promise” (1 Kings 8: 56).
Lord, I delight in You. Help me remain focused on You as my joy and my life, trusting fully that You’ll keep Your promises, amen.
In His Presence… trust His promise.
