An Eternal Focus

“Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you.”  JOHN 6:27

If you are continually experiencing frustration, one reason may be your point of view. You see, although it’s natural for you to focus on the problems directly before you, God’s interest is in developing you for His eternal purposes. And when your immediate interests and His everlasting goals collide, you may experience frustration.

For example, you may plead for the Father to move quickly in solving your problems, but His priority is developing godly character in you. If your troubles serve His aim, they will endure regardless of how uncomfortable they make you.

This is why it is exceedingly important for you to pursue God’s point of view serving His worthy, timeless objectives rather than your temporary aspirations. Because when you focus on the eternal, you begin to understand how the Father is working all things for your good.

So today, what is causing you frustration? Look for God’s everlasting purposes in those circumstances. Because when you do you’ll find the peace and strength to persevere no matter what challenges assail you.

Lord, I accept Your everlasting purposes. Please help me learn these lessons quickly, amen.

In His presence …think eternally.
