Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.
PSALM 51:10 NLT
When God points out areas of your life to work on, it’s because He loves you. He wants to cleanse you so that you will be filled with His life and joy. But be aware, these are the very times you will be tempted to run away from the Father, imagining He’s angry with you or no longer loves you. Don’t do it. Stay the course and develop your relationship with Him.
Because it is when you’re willing to sit before the Lord and allow Him to expose your heart that your life is transformed. He prunes whatever isn’t spiritually edifying from your life. So whatever He brings to your mind today, the best thing you can do is admit it confess it, repent of it, and deal with it. That’s the sure way to keep your sweet fellowship with the Father alive and healthy.
Friend, don’t ignore God or rationalize your actions because that will only stymie your growth. Rather, humble yourself before Him, confess your transgressions, and ask Him to cleanse you. And be assured He will never turn you away.
Lord, cleanse me so that I can enjoy uninterrupted fellowship with You. Thank You for forgiving me, amen.
In His presence… be cleansed.
