“He has no firm root in himself. and when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he falls away. “ MATTHEW 13:21
Friend, are there areas in your life where–because of past pain and self-protection–you will not allow the Word to take hold? If so, then it’s likely that when the storms of life arise, you are completely devastated, you don’t have anything solid to anchor to (Matthew 7:24-27).
This is why it is so crucial that you constantly renew your mind and allow the Lord to “plow up the ground” of your heart so that the Word of God can take root deep within you and you know what you believe without wavering.
So today, ask the Father to reveal the issues that are preventing you from accepting His word–the areas where you’ve refused to trust Him. You may already know what they are because they are constantly causing you trouble. But acknowledge the rocky places and commit yourself to applying God’s truth to your life. It will be difficult, friend, but it is worthwhile-because this is where your true healing begins.
Father, please reveal areas where Scripture hasn’t taken root. Make Your Word the foundation of my life so that I may glorify Your name, amen.
In His presence … allow His truth to take root.
