The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
1 JOHN 4:4 NIV
As hard as it is to face suffering and rejection, your trials can actually be opportunities to experience the Savior’s power, love, ability, wisdom, and peace that transcends understanding. This is because deep down inside, you learn—with an abiding assurance—that God is with you, that He is in control, and that He can give you joy far greater than any circumstance you can experience.
Of course, the comfort and assurance you experience from Him is not a denial of reality, nor an escape from it—on the contrary, it is supernatural and sustaining in ways no one can ever fully understand. His indwelling Spirit gives you a sense of security so deep and in such great measure that nothing can shake it.
Friend, all of God’s children go through crises, and it’s during times of adversity that His peace is most clearly manifested. So give thanks for these times—even though they’re painful—because they’ll serve to bring you closer to Him.
Lord, thank You for this time of adversity and that when I’m struggling, I can lean on You to carry me through, amen.
In His presence . . . rest assured He is with you in your circumstances.
