The people, conflicts, and circumstances may be different—but it’s the same challenge you’ve faced for years. Why can’t you break free from these ever-repeating issues?

Your situation is just like the baker who set out to make a delicious cake, but used salt instead of sugar in his recipe. He tried different mixing techniques, pans, and ovens, but every cake turned out inedible. And he continued to fail until he finally realized that he had to change the ingredients.

The same is true for you. You may seek different ways of solving your problems, but until you change what’s inside of you and how you respond to those problems, you’ll never alter their outcome. The good news is, the Lord wants you to know the truth, and He takes responsibility for making it come alive in you.

So ask God for insight. Allow Him to transform your inmost being. He is able to teach you to respond to your circumstances in a manner that honors Him. And be assured, when you obey Him, He will fill everything that proceeds from you with sweetness.

Lord, help me stop making the same mistakes. Teach me Your ways so I may live and honor You, amen.
