When the woman saw that the tree was… desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. Genesis 3:6

Did you know that Satan is very aware of the desires of your flesh? He convinced Eve to eat from the Tree of Knowledge by appealing to her longing for wisdom. And as he did with her, the enemy will stir up your fleshly desires in order to lure you into destroying yourself.

You see, once the enemy gets you to sin, you will feel shame in the presence of God and avoid Him much like Adam and Eve did in the garden. You will hide from the Lord and cease to listen to Him. Ultimately, the enemy works to make you feel completely estranged from the Father so he can render you useless to God’s kingdom.

But, friend, you’re not alienated from the Father—the powerful blood of Jesus has reconciled you to Him forever! The Lord always wants you with Him. So don’t give the enemy a foothold by gratifying the desires of your flesh. Seek God’s direction and be confident He always has your best interest in mind.

Father, thank You for loving me and truly satisfying the desires of my heart, amen.
